I am looking for information on weekend incentive programs that are offered to your employees. We currently have a weekend option for our employees who commit to working weekends (Friday – Sunday). Their commitment is for 6 months and they are allowed one weekend off during those 6 months. They receive a premium pay for this commitment.
We also have weekend differentials for all hourly staff who work on the weekends. Those employees that are part of the above weekend option are NOT eligible for the weekend differentials.
We are looking at reevaluating our weekend option program as it is very expensive. Before we make any major changes to our program we are doing some research to see what other organizations are doing. Any information you are willing to provide would be very helpful and I am willing to share more about our program if you are interested.

This is Melanie from Holy Family Memorial. We do not offer weekend commitments, nor do we pay a weekend differential.
We have one exception - RN's that commit to our Weekend Pool work 3 12-hour shifts, Fri-Sun, with only 2 weekends off per year, and are paid a higher flat rate than regular staff RN's. Otherwise weekend work is a basic expectation of the job!
